Texas A&M-Kingsville Head Baseball Coach Jason Gonzales has signed a
multi-year contract. The contract extension will keep the championship winning
coaches at Kingsville through May 2016.
Coach Gonzales, a Cuero native, has been successful during his tenure in Javelina Land. He has built a program
that consistently contends for Lone Star Conference titles, averaging 40 wins
over the past two seasons.  In 2014, he produced 11 all-conference players, 7
first-team, 3 second-team and 1 honorable mention. Gonzales has also helped two
players achieve overall honors this season as Denver Diefenbach was named LSC
Academic Player of the Year and Derrick Walls, LSC Player of the Year. He led
the Javelinas to the 2014 LSC Regular Season Championship and the 2013 LSC
Tournament Championship, advancing to the NCAA Division II South Central
Regional Baseball Tournament title game each year. Gonzales is the 2014 LSC
Coach of the Year.
