The Victoria West Boys Powerlifting team traveled to
Houston on Saturday to compete in the Houston ISD / Pro Maxima Invitational.
This was the last opportunity to post a qualifying total for the Region 5 Meet.
Eight young men represented west and impressively finished as the 3rd place team.
Those scoring points for the Warriors are as
follows:
Jeremiah Sodia - 5th
place in the Super Heavy weight class
Kenny Sanchez – 4th
place in the 198 pound weight class
Conner Chumchall – 3rd
in the 220 pound weight class
David Ledbetter – 2nd in
the 148 pound weight class
Marcus Hernandez – Champion in the 123 pound weight
class
Marcus Hernandez and David Ledbetter will represent
Victoria West at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association’s Region 5
Championships on March 9th in Weslaco,
Texas
On the girls’ side, Elizabeth Neitch and Makayla
McDonald will also represent Victoria West at the Texas High School Women’s
Powerlifting Association’s Region 5 Championships this Saturday, March 2, in
Pharr, Texas.
