UHV women's golf picked up its third tournament championship of the season without even playing a full round. The Jaguar women led after 36 holes in the Loyola-New Orleans Invitational in Slidell, Louisiana, and that lead was good enough for the win. The Jaguars shot 640 to beat Thomas by 26 shots. UHV freshman Heather Shake got her individual medalist championship as a Jaguar after a 74-73-147 first day score. Teammate Brooke Brasseaux took third with a 79-77-156. Jaguar Becky Benchot shot 84-88-172, Caitlin Swisher 87-85-172, and Haley Harris 93-85-178.
The UHV men finished in third place with a 600 score, six shots behind first place Mobile.
The Jaguars Vance Edwards tied for third in individual medalist after a 72-74-146, while teammate Steve Jones was sixth with a 72-78-150 score. UHV's Jake Truss tied for seventh at 74-77-151, and teammate Nick Ver Elst tied for ninth after a 74-79-153. The Jaguars Conner Steadman shot 77-81-158. The golfers could only finish 3-4 holes before the rains washed out the final round.
