UHV Teams Get National Poll Votes

The University of Houston-Victoria women’s golf team
continues to receive votes in the latest NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 poll
released Friday.


The Jaguars garnered four votes in the latest poll and
were one of four Association of Independent Institution Conference teams listed
in the poll.


California State-San Marcos remained at No. 3, while the
University of British Columbia dropped one spot to No. 6 and Victoria (B.C.)
remained at No. 12.


UHV will be playing host to the A.I.I. Conference
Championships on April 29 and 30 at the Club at Colony Creek.

The University of Houston-Victoria softball team remained
just outside the Top 25 for the third straight week in the latest NAIA Softball
Coaches’ Top 25 poll released on Tuesday.


The Jaguars received 51 votes in the latest poll and were
five spots out of the Top 25.


Concordia (Calif.) with 19 first-place votes remained at
No. 1 with 590 points, while Association of Independent Institutions Conference
foe California State-San Marcos stayed at No. 2 with 556 points. Lubbock
Christian moved from No. 6 to No. 3, while Lee (Tenn.) and Williams Baptist
(Ark.) remained at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.


The Jaguars are expected to jump back into action on
Thursday when they take on Texas College in a 3 p.m. doubleheader in Tyler. The
Jaguars doubleheader at Texas Wesleyan Friday has been canceled.
