UHV Softball Splits Doubleheader

UHV softball opened its season Wednesday afternoon by splitting a doubleheader with Texas Southern. The NCAA Division I Tigers took game one, 4-3. Dawn Villegas got the loss, Jaguar RBI's from Alex Holland, Ashley Shannon and Casey Sax.  In game two, UHV rallied from a 6-2 deficit with three in the fifth, three more in the sixth, to win 8-7. Sax and Marley Moehrig had three RBI's apiece for the 10th ranked Jaguars, while Tanya Carlson got the win in relief.
