UHV softball lost its opening game at the NAIA National Regionals Monday afternoon. The Jaguars lost to Friends University of Kansas, 9-3. The Jaguars took the lead in the fourth on a two-run homer by Alex Holland. But Friends got three in the fourth and four in the fifth, a grand slam, off losing pitcher Dawn Villegas. The Jaguars now face Northwood Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in an elimination game at Lubbock Christian.
