The University of Houston-Victoria softball team fell out
of the Top 25 on Tuesday with the release of the first regular season NAIA
Softball Coaches’ Top 25 poll.

After starting the season ranked No. 10 in the preseason
poll, the Jaguars dropped four spots outside of the Top 25 receiving 77 votes.

Concordia (Calif.) moved from a preseason No. 5 ranking
to the top spot with five first-place votes and 560 points, just edging out
previously No. 1 California State-San Marcos. CSUSM, despite receiving eight
first-place votes, was second with 556 points.

Rounding out the top five were Lee (Tenn.) at No. 3,
Rogers State (Okla.) at No. 4 and Auburn Montgomery at No. 5.

The Jaguars (7-15) will face Oklahoma Baptist, who
received 14 votes in the latest poll, on Wednesday in a 2 p.m. doubleheader at
the Victoria Youth Sports Complex. They will host No. 9-ranked Oklahoma City on
Friday in a 4 p.m. doubleheader.
