UHV On National Signing Day

The University of
Houston-Victoria announced the signing a several student-athletes for men’s and
women’s golf along with men’s and women’s soccer on Wednesday. Below is a list
of student-athletes that have committed to the UHV athletic program:


UHV Golf Signings


Heather Shake, Pearland

Dawson High School

              Two-time defending District 24-4A

              Three trips to the Region III-4A
Tournament as a medalist

              Had a 78.5 scoring average and won
six of 11 events during the summer in the Houston Golf Association Junior Tour

              Shot a 38-76-114 at district in

              Shot 75-77-151 and tied for 7th at
regionals in 2012



Drew O’Daniel, Euless

              Colleyville Heritage High School


Jake Gutierrez, Corpus Christi

              Corpus Christi Ray High School

              District 31-4A individual medalist
(77-80-157) in 2012

              Tied for 16th with a 77-81-158 at
Region IV-4A Tournament in 2012

              Finished 6th with a 167 in 2011 at
District 31-4A Tournament

              Finished 51st with an 83-83-166 at
regionals in 2011


Rudy Trevino, Corpus Christi

              Corpus Christi Ray High School

              Tied for 39th at Region IV-4A
Tournament in 2012 with an 84-85-169

              Finished second at the District
31-4A Tournament in 2011 with an 81-81-162

              Placed 30th at the Region IV-4A
Tournament in 2011 with an 80-78-158

Ally Romero, El Paso

Position: Defender/midfielder

year varsity starter, 2011 MVP Defender of the Year for El Paso

              2011 Coaches Award for WTC in
2011, 2-year starter for WTC, WTC captain 2012


Mareese “Reese” Johnson, Grand Prairie

              Western Texas College transfer

              Position: Defender/midfielder

              South Grand Prairie High School

              WTC 2011&2012, co-captain and
helped lead her team into the regional championships both years

Samuel James - Worchester, England
