UHV Golfer Earns Academic Award

University of Houston-Victoria golfer Lyndie Smith has
been selected to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District 7 women’s
at-large team.



 



Smith, a senior, was one of nine players recognized for
the honor in the District 7 college division.



 



The award is voting on by CoSIDA members and is based on
a players GPA and on-field performance.



 



Smith, a psychology major from Highland Village, is now
eligible for inclusion on the CoSIDA Academic All-America team that will be
voted on later this month.



 



In seven events this past season Smith compiled an 85.08
scoring average and recorded three top-10 finishes.



 



One of the original members of the first UHV women’s golf
team in 2011, she compiled an 87.34 scoring average in 21 events and her best
finish came this past year when she tied for third at the Houston St. Thomas
Talamonti Invitational. She also finished her UHV career with six top-10
finishes.
