UHV Fall Classic Golf

The UHV women lead after round one of the UHV Fall Golf Classic. Playing at the Club at Colony Creek, the Jaguar women shot 313 to lead by eight shots over A&M-Kingsville and A&M-International. UHV's Becky Benchot is tied for second in individual medalist with a 74. Teammate Caitlin Swisher, in her first tournament for UHV, shot 76 and is in fifth place. Brooke Brasseaux shot 79 and is tied for seventh. The UHV men, playing at Victoria Country Club, are in second after a 298 score, one shot behind St. Thomas. Jaguar freshman James Walker shot 73 and is in a three-way tie for the individual medalist lead. UHV's Nick Ver Elst, Vance Edwards and Steve Jones each shot 75's and are tied for fifth. The UHV men's second team shot 314 and is in third. Conner Steadman and William Hicks each shot 78 for the Jaguars and are tied for 11th, while teammates Rudy Trevino and Kyle Smith shot 79's and are tied for 14th in individual medalist.
