St. Joseph softball won its TAPPS 4A Area playoff Thursday night, beating Katy John Paul, 12-1 in five innings. Amanda Sohrt improved her record to 12-1, tossing a two-hitter with six strikeouts. Sohrt also hit a two-run homer and drove in three for the game. Hanna Novasad also hit a two-run homer and like Sohrt went 2-for-3. Paige Terrell went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. The Lady Flyers will face Austin Dominic Savio in the Regional round next Tuesday.
