El Campo On National Signing Day

Two of the top players for the El Campo Ricebirds' State 3A division one finalists signed with Rice Wednesday morning. Cole Hunt will play tight end for the Owls after making the Max Preps medium school second team All-America at defensive end. Hunt was also AP Sports Editors State 3A defensive player of the year, and first team All-State and 25-3A most valuable player. Trey Martin, AP Sports Editors first team All-State, 25-3A lineman of the year, unanimous first team All-District on offense and defense, and was second team All-State by Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine.
