Our athlete of the week, Hunter Borem is one big reason Calhoun football fans are thankful about this season.
You might think because of the almost strictly running game that Calhoun football is based off of the quarterback might not play that large a role in the success of the offense, quite the opposite. Aside from Borem averaging over 9 yards a carry, he has to make split second decisions.
Borem leads his team in rushing touchdown averaging on the season more than 2 touchdowns a game, 9.1 yards per carry, he leads his team in touchdowns, has over 1500 yards rushing, and quarterback of a team that’s undefeated but regardless of his success, he credits his team.
Calhoun football now heads to the Alamo City for round two. The Sandcrabs take on 9-2 Edcouch-Elsa in the area playoffs Friday night.
