Our athlete of the week is Evel, and he is bad news for Shiner's opponents.
With only a few football teams remaining here in the Crossroads the cream is rising to the top and the cream of Shiners football program Evel Jones. Last week against Ozona Jones put up numbers. He had 9 carries for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns but it doesn’t stop on the offensive end, head coach Steven Cerny has Jones on the field for defense as well.
Jones puts up staggering numbers plays on both sides of the ball and he does all this for his team. Sixth-ranked Shiner is in the regional round for the second straight year. The 10-1 Comanches face 7-4 Weimar at Seguin.
