Athlete of the Week
Our athlete of the week goes for a district title this Saturday. Ryan Mayes a sophomore swimmer for the Victoria East swim team and as far as the Titans are concerned without Mayes they would be missing a huge leg not just their relay teams but in the whole titan swim program.
Mayes has been diagnosed with high functioning autism but when he is in the water you can’t tell. At last week’s meet at the Aquatics Center he took first place in the 100 breast. What was more impressive is that he improved by 1.35 seconds. The goal for Mayes is simple he swims because he loves to compete and loves to win but what’s most important to Mayes is how he feels whenever he wins and can represent the Titans.
