Our Athlete of the Week came through in the clutch, and worked overtime to do it.
Christopher Jones, pitcher for the Hallettsville Brahmas, is this week’s Athlete of the Week. Jone's winning percentage is remarkable. When he is on the mound the Brahmas win more than 75 percent of their games.
His skill doesn’t stop there though; he also has an era of 2.49. Out of 243 batters faced, he has only allowed 42 hits, and he is just a Junior.
Jones will admit he isn’t a pitcher that will strike one out with heat; in 55 innings he has struck out 40 batters. And with seven wins under his belt, Jones thanks his defense.

For Shorty Cook, head coach of the Brahmas, it’s a luxury having Jones on his squad - not because of his arm, but because of his baseball savvy.
