Stranded Passengers Return

Throughout the entire ordeal we've been getting a firsthand account of the conditions from Crossroads residents Bettye and David Pribyl. Friday the couple and their family are finally back on dry land.

At about one o'clock Friday morning, Bettye Pribyl and her family finally set foot on American soil, the first land they'd seen in five days, and had an unexpected welcome home party. First item on their agenda is a shower. She said many factors made the ride home feel even longer, but she gained memories she will never forget. Another positive is that she said being in a powerless situation like that can make strangers seem like family. Pribyl said she already has a plan when she gets back home and that they should be arriving back into Victoria sometime this evening, and she'll finally get a good night's sleep in her own bed, doors closed.
