Smoke Detector Inspection
To keep your home fire-safe, working smoke detectors are a smart option and it's the time of year again to change them.
Daylight Saving Time is this Sunday, March tenth and that means it's time for your smoke detector's semi-annual tune-up. Although the cause of the latest house fire, which turned deadly in Victoria is still under investigation, and it is unknown whether the home had an operational smoke detector or not, Victoria Fire Marshal Tom Leger would still like to offer some reminders. He said homeowners should test their detectors monthly, and change the batteries every six months with the time change serving as an easy reminder. Also, every smoke detector should be replaced with a new one after ten years.
