Sheriff Heads to Washington


Gun control, and our state's unique needs for protection, is one of the main reasons our county's top cop is headed to Capitol Hill. Victoria County Sheriff T. Michael O'Connor is headed to Washington to make lawmakers aware of the impact big topics like immigration, and gun control have on the area.

Victoria County Sheriff T. Michael O’Connor is making his way to Washington Tuesday to try and open some eyes and ears about some of the problems plaguing south Texas. On the top of the to-do list is gun control. He said many concerned citizens have approached him in fear of losing their means of protection. Another hot topic O’Connor wants to target is immigration, an issue that used to be most problematic in Texas, which now affects the entire nation.
