Red Cross Training
Across the Lone Star State and Oklahoma, more than 700 volunteers with the Red Cross are preparing for the next big response.
From wildfires, to thunderstorms and tornados, the Red Cross is gearing up for whatever Mother Nature throws their way. Wednesday evening the local chapter of Red Cross hosted a disaster assessment training to teach volunteers how to assess damage. Red Cross said it's critical for an accurate and quick assessment of the impacted homes during and after a disaster. The Red Cross is looking for volunteers and will be hosting a hands-on disaster assessment drill this Saturday at Northside Baptist Church from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the drill is free and open to the public.
