Patriot’s Day
With the help of some dramatic volunteers, the fifth grade class at Our Lady of Victory was taken back in time Tuesday.
The students have been studying the time before the revolutionary war, but Tuesday they were actually immersed in it, learning how to live a day in the life of an American patriot in the late 1700s. Not only were they dressed for the part, but they also acted it too. From butter churning to candle making to even building their own corn husk dolls, the children learned it all. Tuesday, the students will attend a reception where they will hear from the signers of the Declaration of Independence, which is assisted by the Saint Joe drama department.
