Operation Sight Cast
Friday night, we're learning details on a federal operation that landed 21 wanted criminals behind bars. U.S. Marshals, the Victoria County sheriff's office and other south Texas law enforcement agencies teamed up to put those criminals in their sights during operation "Sight Cast".
The five day hunt for fugitives wrapped up Thursday with 21 arrests. Friday night, 12 remain behind bars at the Victoria County jail. Officials said they were looking for wanted gang members, violent criminals and sex offenders. In addition to their original charges, some of the criminals face even more charges, including drugs, based on evidence gathered during the arrests. Members of the "Gulf Coast Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force" include officers from the U.S. Marshals, along with Victoria and Nueces County sheriff's departments, Corpus Christi police and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
