New Rail Road Crossing System
While the voting system didn't pass go, County Commissioners did give the green light to install some red lights at one popular railroad crossing.
With funding through the 2012 federal rail signal program, the railroad crossing guard and warning device will be installed along Nursery Road, near the Highway 87 North Intersection. The warning device will include at least a 30 second warning of an approaching train, complete with lights, audio signals, and crossing arms. Commissioners said with the heavy amount of traffic at Nursery and 87, the crossing guard is a must. The device is scheduled to be installed within the next few weeks.
