Monday’s Wind Damage
Monday's cold front brought us tropical storm force winds, causing damage across the area. The winds were fierce Monday knocking down power lines and igniting grass fires. According to Elgin Janssen with AEP, the winds got up to over 40 MPH. That's higher than tropical storm force winds. He said the damage however was not as bad as anticipated. He added those with power outages all had power restored shortly afterwards. Janssen said power lines are often damaged by tree limbs branches and leaves.
