Many will likely want to cool down from the heat at pools pretty soon but it could be a problem at the city's pool, because it might not open to the public. The City of Victoria is still in need of lifeguards in order to open the city pool on schedule this summer.
The Gary Moses Municipal pool is scheduled to open on June 5th and Parks and Recreation needs to fill at least six more positions to make that happen. Applicants must be at least 16-years-old and have completed a lifeguard certification course. Those who work the entire summer with the city will be reimbursed for the certification fees. To fill out an application log onto the City of Victoria’s website www.victoriatx.org. Lifeguard training will begin May 31st.
