Heart Month
Hearts are on everyone's minds because of Valentine’s Day, but February is also home to National Heart Health Month.
Heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women. So everyone is being encouraged to use the month to become heart healthy. Heart disease includes stroke and heart attack. Some signs of a heart attack include pain in the neck, jaw or back, feeling weak, chest pain or discomfort, and shortness of breath but, doctors said that the symptoms can be very vague. High blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol are risk factors that can be treated or prevented. Heart disease can also be hereditary. For more information on heart health, visit www.heart.org
