Goliad Illegals Bust
Once again, law enforcement officials in Goliad County captured a number of illegal immigrants attempting to make their way to Houston, but this time, some of the captured were children.
According to the Goliad County Sheriff’s department, D.P.S. troopers attempted to stop two pickups Tuesday evening on highway 59 south of Goliad for a traffic violation. The trucks fled in two different directions, eventually running off the road and the passengers fled. It took authorities nearly 24-hours to round all of them up. Kirby Brumby the Sheriff said an additional ten were captured in the area on Wednesday: one of them a six-year-old child from El Salvador. Both children have been reunited with their parents in Houston and the remaining were transported to immigration and customs enforcement officials.
