We are used to the ups and downs of gas prices. Right now it's a real pain at the pump as gas prices have shot back up. According to AAA, the current national average price for a gallon of regular is $3.58. In the past two weeks gas prices have jumped up 25 cents. Here in the Lone Star State, the average is $3.39. Refinery shutdowns and higher crude oil prices are the reasons for the jump in prices. Residents are feeling the hit in their pockets. Nick Schrader works at Speedy Stop on Navarro and says he notices the customers trying to save a penny or two. Michael snider has to drive to Gonzales every day for work. He says he puts in 20 to 30 dollars’ worth every day.
