Free Swimming Lessons Ends Friday
When temperatures get this hot many people flock to a pool to beat the heat but fun in the water can also turn dangerous. According to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services nearly 50 kids have died in drowning accidents this year.
In an effort to keep the numbers from rising, the City of Cuero has been offering free swim lessons during the month of July. The final lesson is Friday. Organizers said more than 200 kids participated in the free classes and they plan on offering free lessons again next year.
