Death at Formosa Plant

POINT COMFORT - Christopher Adames, 26, of Port Lavaca has died after falling 20 feet at the Formosa Plastics facility in Point Comfort. 

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office, Adames was pressure washing a storage bin when he fell.

When EMS arrived on the scene at 12:24 p.m. they preformed CPR on Adames but he wasn't responding. He was confirmed dead on the scene. 

Calhoun County Sheriff's Office is calling the incident an accidental death, but is still investigating how Adames fell to his death. 

A media representative with Formosa Plastics has confirmed a death occurred on Tuesday at their plant in Point Comfort.

A press release from Formosa Plastics states Adames was performing "routine cleaning activities" at the time of his fall. However, there is no word on how exactly he fell.

Why wasn't this young man wearing a safety harness? Lawsuit headed their way..very sad. Prayers for his family..such a tragic loss. ??
