Sunday morning, two fishermen in Port Lavaca found something they were not looking for: a dead body. According to Port Lavaca Police at 8 am Sunday they responded to a call for a floating dead body at the Bay Front Peninsula. Detective Colin Rangnow with the Port Lavaca Police Department says the body was identified as 27 year old Port Lavaca resident Diego Martinez. He says they think the body was in the water for 2 to 4 hours. There were no signs of foul play or struggle. Rangnow says the family has been notified and the autopsy could take weeks. Right now they are trying to figure out how he got there and who last saw him. The last relative that was with him was about 6:30PM Saturday. Port Lavaca police are still investigating the case.
