City Council Vote Puts another Traffic Light on Navarro
One city project could make drivers come to a screeching halt or put the pedal to the metal. On Tuesday City Council members took a vote that could put a four way traffic light at the intersection on Navarro and Huvar street.
Victoria Mayor Paul Polasek says, there have been a number of wrecks at the intersection due to the high traffic, so putting up the new light would make the intersection safer; However the construction would cost Victoria tax payers over 250 thousand dollars.
The mayor says, the cost of the light is worth it because it's a sign of city growth.
If approved by city council the light would be constructed sometime before the year ends. City council also voted in favor of an 80-thousand dollar classroom at the fire department training facility.
