2012 Crime Statistics
Thursday night we are taking an in-depth look at crime because Victoria police have officially released their 2012 crime report and the numbers are mixed. 2012 statistics show increases in violent crimes including assault and even murder but despite the numbers, Victoria’s top cop said the overall crime is falling. When it comes to crime, 2012 has had its ups and downs. Homicides more than doubled though, something Chief J.J. Craig would call just a bad year. In addition to murder, another significant increase is in class two crimes, drugs and narcotics and also in DUI’s but Chief Craig said in this case, it's a good thing and Chief Craig said when it comes to the decreases, robbery is the one he is most proud of.
