Wood Hi Fire

Back in Victoria County, fire crews rush to the scene of an afternoon grass fire that threatened to burn down a house.

It happened around 2:00 p.m., on highway 87 and Wood-Hi Road. Fire officials said the blaze was triggered with sparks from an electrical line, hitting dry dead grass. Victoria County fire marshal Ron Pray said sometimes they have trouble putting out these types of fires. Pray said fire crews were able to put the fire out before it reached the house. No one was at home at the time and nobody was injured. Pray said AEP officials will investigate.
