Two Accidents on Highway 87

An accident on highway 87 lands a man in the hospital, and then behind bars and as troopers were investigating this crash another accident happened at the same location.

The first accident happened around 7 near Dacosta. DPS troopers said two trucks were headed north on 87, when one of the trucks hit the back of the second one. The impact caused both trucks to rollover but the driver who caused the accident took off from the scene and was caught a short time later. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The man was then arrested and taken into custody for leaving the scene of an accident. The driver of the gray truck was also taken to the hospital, there's no word on his injuries.

At the second accident Victoria County sheriffs said a teen driver headed south on 87 became distracted by the first accident. A truck following the teen, then plowed into the back of her vehicle. Authorities said she was ticketed for failing to maintain a safe speed. She was not hurt and neither was her passenger or the driver of the other vehicle.
