Tax Filing Mistakes

Tax season is here but there's a few things you need to know before you file. When it comes to filing one’s taxes well there is a lot of room for error.

A common error that could cost you some money and any mistakes that go unnoticed could result in you having to re-file your taxes and if this were to happen it would cost you an additional fee. Greg Hermes with CPA stated about 148 million returns were filled last year and of those about 120 million were filled electronically which is roughly about 80%. He explained that most people feel that filing electronically is their best bet, but errors can still occur. The best way to eliminate errors is to seek out a CPA for help because they are familiar with changes that may have occurred and can advise you on a personal level. Hermes said you can go to the IRS website and file your taxes there, however you have to qualify. For more tips on what mistakes not to make you can go over to www.irs.gov
