Stolen Cars
Thursday night, Cuero police are hoping to add a few more inmates the list, after learning a couple of vehicles have been stolen there in the past several days but these aren't just car thefts. They are larger vehicles, police believe are being used to smuggle illegal immigrants and narcotics across Texas.
This month two vehicles have been stolen in Cuero. According to Cuero police on February 13th a Chevy suburban was stolen on Oak Lane, and three days later a Ford F-150 King Ranch was stolen by the high school baseball fields. Sargent Sam Saunders with the Cuero Police Department said in the past the city has had a number of larger vehicles stolen. He said a number of the vehicles were recovered in either police pursuits with illegals or found with narcotics. Also some had the back seats torn out to make room to traffic the humans or narcotics.
Cuero police are still investigating, but have no leads so far. Sgt. Saunders said if you know anything about either of the vehicles you can contact the Cuero Police Department at (361) 277-3552.
