Spring Job Opportunities

If you're looking to have some fun in the sun while making some money, Victoria Parks and Recreation may have a job for you. The department is looking to hire over a dozen full and part-time positions.

The spring months are blooming with some new job opportunities at Victoria Parks and Recreation. Andrea Blomberg with Parks and Rec. said they are looking to fill about 20 jobs and there are a variety of positions available in the recreation and maintenance departments with pay at minimum wage and up. In the past the departments had to run without a full staff of life guards and they are hoping that doesn't have to happen this year. The majority of positions that need to be filled are lifeguard positions and applicants must be certified in first aid and CPR. They said the YMCA offers those certification courses.

You have to be at least 16 to apply and applications must be filled out online. For have more information about the YMCA classes please visit www.ymcavictoria.org and for the applications visit www.victoriatx.org.

The Victoria Police Department is also hiring:

They have openings in the following areas: Licensed Police Officer, Unlicensed Officer (currently in a police academy), Police Clerk, and Telecommunications Operator (police dispatcher). Information on these openings, including job description and hourly rate, can be obtained at the City of Victoria Human Resources website: https://victoriatx.peopleadmin.com/postings/search
