The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi issued the following alert at 8:58 am:

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
NORTHEASTERN ARANSAS COUNTY IN SOUTH TEXAS...
SOUTHEASTERN BEE COUNTY IN SOUTH TEXAS...
REFUGIO COUNTY IN SOUTH TEXAS...
NORTH CENTRAL SAN PATRICIO COUNTY IN SOUTH TEXAS...

* UNTIL 1000 AM CST

* AT 853 AM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL...AND
DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED 9 MILES
NORTHEAST OF ST. PAUL...OR 10 MILES WEST OF WOODSBORO...AND MOVING
EAST AT 40 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
BLANCONIA...
WOODSBORO...
REFUGIO...
QUINTANA...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

IN ADDITION TO LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS...CONTINUOUS CLOUD TO
GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. MOVE INDOORS
IMMEDIATELY! LIGHTNING IS ONE OF NATURES NUMBER ONE KILLERS.
REMEMBER...IF YOU CAN HEAR THUNDER...YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO BE
STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.
