Scammers Target Elderly
The Crossroads are getting flooded these days by scammers. Tuesday we told you about a potential magazine scam in Edna and Wednesday night people at one apartment complex are shining the light on a new one.
Bretton Village is a low income residence occupied specifically by the elderly and disabled. Edith Cheney a Community Administrator said the residents at Bretton Village make easy targets. Cheney said anywhere from five to seven residents were targeted and almost all them are now switched back to their original providers with all the fees waived. We did contact Reliant Energy and they said they are currently investigating the situation and will do everything in their power to make it right for the customers.
