Memorial Weekend Road Safety

Some people may see the long weekend as a time to party and drink and travel: but don't do both in Victoria. Police here will be out and looking for those who do drink and get behind the wheel over the next three days and they have two campaigns going on right now, which means they'll be out in force.

Police said the Memorial Day weekend will have many families get together and out of town travelers which also means, more people drinking and getting behind the wheel. The police department is taking part in "No Refusal Week". This means if you are pulled over for suspected drinking and driving, and refuse to have your blood drawn, a warrant will be issued to have it drawn but it's not just drinking and driving, police are concerned about. They are also taking part in Texas' "Click it or Ticket Campaign" aimed at enforcing seat belt laws.

For more information on the two safety campaigns the Victoria police are enforcing this weekend "No Refusal Week' and "Click it or Ticket' visit\nhtsa\2013ciot\index.html
