While shoppers may have been busy shopping for toys for their own children, back here in the crossroads, others were busy giving toys away.

Strictly Business Car Club of South Texas hosted their first toys for tots car show this afternoon in Port Lavaca.

Car enthusiasts got the chance to check out some cars by bringing a new unwrapped toy to contribute to the event.

The car show show brought out many different types of cars and some came even as far as Oklahoma to support the event.

Organizers said the gifts collected today are the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department Brown Santa to hand out to the community.

"It's really what this is for, its for them because they didn't have anybody sign up for them because there were no toys," organizer Christina Castillo said.

The organization said they received over 35 toys with one person bringing almost 17 toys by themselves.
