Investigation Shuts Down Local Game Room

After a month long investigation deputies were finally able to shut down two game room for illegal activity. Saturday residents passed by in disbelief as the Dewitt County Sheriff’s office confiscated machines, money and prizes. 


"We executed search warrants in Cuero and Yorktown, the Cuero Amusement Center had 50 amusement games and about 8100 dollars in cash. The Yorktown  game room had about 48 machines and about 4,200 in cash," Zavesky said.


In addition to seizing equipment two arrests were made. 37 year old Nicole Herron was arrested at the Cuero location and 37 year old Lottie Ramon was arrested at the Yorktown location. Both women were charged with possession of gambling devices, equipment or paraphernalia; gambling promotion and keeping a gambling place. Both women were released from the Dewitt County Detention Facility after posting bail. Police are still on the lookout for a third individual that is believed to have a connection to this case. A full investigation is still underway.
