Inez Teenager Killed In Multi-Vehicle Accident

VICTORIA -- A teenager was killed in a multiple vehicle accident on Highway 59 near Telferner Sunday night.

According to DPS Officials, around 10:15p.m., 19-year-old Colton Devon Fitzpatrick of Inez was driving a four-wheeler East on Beck Road in Victoria County, when he attempted to cross the southbound lane of Highway 59 and was struck by an on-coming 18-wheeler. Fitzpatrick was killed on impact.

Officers said when hit, the four-wheeler broke into pieces hit an oncoming car, forcing it to land in the median. No other injuries were reported.

The accident caused traffic to be halted on Highway 59 South for several hours, backing it up for miles. A single lane was finally opened around 1:00a.m., nearly three hours later.

Officers said a toxicology report will be ordered for the deceased. The accident is still under investigation.
