Event Center Meeting

Earlier Tuesday, the City Council threw their support towards a proposed new multi-purpose event center for Victoria.

Tuesday business partners Steve Roth and Rawley McCoy went before the city council to ask for their vote of confidence and acknowledgment that the Event Center is something the community wants and could benefit from. Last month county commissioners also gave the green light to move forward with the project. The 500 acre site would be located at the Loop and Airline, and could hold a Convention Center, a 200-room hotel, and host a number of sporting events. Roth and Rawley said their presentations to county leaders and local groups are in effort to get total community support. Organizers hope to start construction in as early as 6 months.
