NURSERY - On Wednesday, the Victoria County Sheriff released the description of an alleged rapist who kidnapped and attacked a woman last week in Nursery.
VCSO Deputies received a call from a woman Thursday, who said she was coming out of the Trading Post convenience store in Nursery when a man followed her and forced his way into her vehicle. The woman said he drove down FM 447 to an underpass where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Sheriff T. Michael O'Connor said the victim was taken to Citizens Medical Center in Victoria following the alleged attack. Sheriff O'Connor would not say whether or not a rape kit was used, but did confirm his office is waiting on lab results to get back. The Sheriff also said on Wednesday, the victim was not in the frame of mind to talk much, and counseling services were being made available to her.
Sheriff O'Connor offered a description of the alleged rapist. He's described as a White or Hispanic male, middle-aged, with short black hair that was combed back at the time of the attack.
Deputies issued a warning to local women Wednesday to be vigilant and alert because the man is still on the loose.
The investigation is ongoing.
