DeWitt Jail Inspection
Jail guards in Cuero got an unexpected visit from the state last week.
On Thursday, the Texas Commission on jail standards made their yearly unscheduled visit to the DeWitt County jail. According to Sheriff Jode Zavesky, they make a visit once a year to each jail in the state. The commission makes sure jails are in compliance with current regulations regarding safety, sanitary conditions, and how the inmates are treated.
