VICTORIA – On Friday, the funeral service for Bryan Doane, 19, of Victoria, was held.

Doane was killed while riding his motorcycle under Zac Lentz Pkwy/Main Street overpass Monday evening.

He crashed into the back of a tanker truck around 8 p.m., and was rushed to DeTar Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The service was held at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral off Laurent Street in Victoria. The service was given by Priest Gary Janak and lasted an hour.

The crowd at the service included Doane’s immediately family and friends, including Joe Derrick, a friend of the family for the past 15 years.

“It was a beautiful service,” said Derrick. “We have the promise for us that Brian is going to be with our Father in heaven.”

Also, in attendance was a group of Victoria bikers who followed behind the hearse to Rosewood Cemetery, where Doane will be buried.
