VICTORIA - A Victoria teenager was killed while riding his motorcycle Monday, and the local biker community is finding a way to honor him.

Brian Doane, 19, of Victoria, was killed while riding his motorcycle under Zac Lentz Pkwy/Main Street overpass Monday evening.

Doane crashed into the back of a tanker truck around 8 p.m., and was rushed to DeTar Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Doane was a 2012 graduate of Victoria East High School, where he excelled as both a student and an athlete.

Despite all of his accomplishments, Doane's father, Guy Doane, said Brian's first love was his motorcycle.

A bike ride has been planned in his honor.

Brandon Garcia and Jorge Borrero are teaming up with CASH Customs, a Victoria automotive shop, for a memorial bike ride on Friday, March 21st at 9 a.m. at the shop on 3302 N. Ben Jordan Street.

The ride is open to the public.

Organizers said they plan to ride to the funeral home where Doane's service is being held and follow behind the hearse.

Service details are pending.
