Anita Perry Visits Cuero
The first lady of Texas is on her back to Austin Thursday night after spending the evening in the Crossroads to support a growing downtown Cuero.
Anita Perry stopped in Cuero, as the city becomes the latest to join the Texas Main Street Program. The program is aimed at recognizing revitalized downtown areas in Texas communities. Cuero is now the 84th Texas City to be a part of the program. Earlier Thursday evening, Mrs. Perry delivered a speech, and unveiled a rendering of what several buildings on Main Street will look like after they're restored. Main Street officials said with the Eagle Ford Shale rolling through town, now is the time to act.
The Texas Main Street Program has brought more than 2.6 billion dollars in re-investment, almost 29-thousand new jobs, and more than 74-hundred businesses.
